What is your favourite card you’ve designed for Sunshine Llama, and why?

It’s hard to choose from these five pieces but  “Welcome Little One” is really close to my heart. One of my friend was pregnant at this time and I dedicated this postcard to her. I put the most love on that one I think.

Can you tell us a little bit more about your design process? What do you enjoy most about the design process?

For me it’s always exciting to work on illustration series. I love  to figure out how to connect the pieces.  Lucy sent me the topics and  I got absolutely free hands on the illustrations. I got the idea to make all the five about cats. I love cats, I love to draw them and I think many people can relate.:)

How did you get into illustration/design?

I have always loved drawing since kindergarten so being creative felt natural to me, but it took me a long time to figure out I can do this as a profession.

I studied graphic design which had a huge impact on my design thinking and process but I enjoyed making images more. After a year of working in the industry I decided to get out of my comfort zone and do something different. So we went on a bike trip to Italy with my boyfriend. We travelled by bike from Hungary to Sicily while volunteering in organic farms. We spent so much time in nature and had many challenges, good and bad ones. All of these experiences made me sure that I can do more than I thought.  After going home I slowly got into freelancing and got more commissions in illustrations then I signed into my agency.

Where do you find inspiration?

Everyday life and from childhood memories.

Who is your favourite designer/artist/creative person?

My favourite creative person is my partner. He is a ceramicist so he thinks in 3D and I can only see things in 2D which can be very fascinating what we can add to each other’s work. He also gives me really great pep talks and encouragement and it’s just super fun to share my life with him.

Do you have any top tips for aspiring designers?

Listen to your guts. Be patient with yourself, keep going what you love and don’t be afraid to make mistakes! This is my mantra until today.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself 🙂

I’ve lived and travelled to many places in Europe, but never ever lived in big cities. I always lived in small cities or in the countryside.:)

What is your favourite film?

I love to explore and it changes all the time, but I can watch Wes Andrerson and Mijazaki Hajao movies any time.

What is your star sign?
