Interview with Yuliya Zvezdnaya

My favourite is the one I designed with a girl and a tiger, because this idea was born absolutely spontaneously, right from the subconscious depths of my brain. I was falling asleep and saw the composition before my eyes. Everything turned out almost according to the method of Salvador Dali! I had to turn on the light and draw it in a sketchbook before I forgot.

Sometimes ideas come to me spontaneously, but most often it’s the result of hard work 🙂 I analyze a lot of other people’s work, and think about forms and poses that can be somehow unusually inserted into the composition. I love mixing ideas, fitting lettering into shapes… doing something fun.

I really wanted to draw a cartoon and send it to various international animation competitions. I started learning animation and in the process accidentally found out about the existence of microstocks, which are sites where I can upload an image i’ve made and other people can buy it. And I can try to draw anything! So, I tried! And people bought 🙂

Everywhere, from movies to stains on the walls. But I also like to go on Pinterest and visually pump my consciousness, develop illustrative vision.

A very difficult question. It’s really hard for me to single out just one… Well, let it be Alejo Giraldo. I love his work

Do not be afraid to seek and try and appreciate your work, your time – your unique vision of things! And as much as possible, try to study and analyze the structure of things. It greatly expands your perception of the world and gives you a lot of inspiration and ideas.

I like to set myself absurd goals, asking myself questions like “what if?!”. Recently I decided to walk 50 km in a day. It was a cool experience!
