Lucy Maggie Designs is proud to welcome its newest recruit Carol Hattersley, who joins the team as Design and Marketing Assistant as part of the government Kickstart scheme. Carol, who will be fulfilling a 6-month placement at the growing independent business based out of the Northern Lights Building in the Baltic Triangle area of Liverpool, brings with her a wealth of experience working in the creative fashion industry and the drive to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment, of which Lucy Maggie Designs is one.

Carol graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class BA Honours in Fashion Design in the summer of 2020, and since then has been working as an assistant fashion designer at Vogue Sourcing, where she has developed key trend research skills and the confident to liaise with both clients and suppliers on a daily basis. By joining Lucy Maggie Designs as a Design Marketing Assistant, she hopes to broaden her breadth of skill by getting involved in a diverse range of daily tasks and learn first-hand what it means to work in fast-evolving creative business as part of the wider creative industry.

Lucy Nicholson, founder of Lucy Maggie Designs, said: “Both me and the girls at Lucy Maggie are incredibly excited to welcome Carol as the last of our hires from the government Kickstart scheme. Carol has already got some impressive skills, including being proficient in the Adobe Creative platform, and we can’t wait to have her get stuck in and help the business grow.

Lucy continued: “2022 is an exciting year for Lucy Maggie Designs. We’ve just launched a brand-new publishing arm, Sunshine Llama, and with it we’ve found ourselves faced with many new opportunities, both within the company and for new and emerging artists. Carol will certainly have her work cut out for her over the next 6-months with everything that’s going on at the company – and I am sure that she will love every minute!”

Carol commented: “I’m beyond excited to be joining the Lucy Maggie team. I cannot wait to immerse myself in the business and develop my skills within the creative industry. It’s exciting to work for a company with so many new opportunities, I’m sure the experience I will bring to the company will help the business flourish. I’m excited for what the next 6 months will bring!”
